M&As this week: University Games, PSS Belgium, PlayMonster

University Games Corporation has completed the acquisition of The Haywire Group Inc for an undisclosed sum.

University Games Corporation has completed the acquisition of The Haywire Group Inc for an undisclosed sum.

Based in the US, University Games is a producer and developer of social interaction and educational games, while Haywire Group is a board game manufacturer.

The transaction enables Haywire Group to expand globally in line with its mission of helping kids to learn and develop as people.

PSS Belgium NV has announced the acquisition of the entire issued share capital in Crown Million Industries (International ) Ltd from Shinhint Industries Ltd for HK$34.2m ($4.35m).

Based in Belgium, PSS Belgium is a designer, developer and manufacturer of sound systems for automotive and consumer electronics markets, while Shinhint Industries is an audio speaker equipment provider based in Hong Kong.

Crown Million is a supplier of speakers and electro-acoustic solutions.

PlayMonster LLC (formerly Patch Products Inc) has completed the acquisition of Interplay UK Ltd for an undisclosed sum.

Based in the US, PlayMonster is a producer and retailer of family entertainment products, while Interplay is a UK-based wholesaler of toys and games.

CorpAcq Ltd has completed the acquisition of Cotton Traders Ltd (Cotton Traders ) from Fran Cotton and Steve Smith for an undisclosed sum.

CorpAcq is a private equity firm, while Cotton Traders is a retailer of apparels and accessories.

Both the companies involved in the acquisition are based in the UK.

Fran Cotton and Steve Smith will continue to be board members in CorpAcq , under the terms of the transaction.

JAB Consumer Fund and JAB Holding Company have entered an agreement with BRIDGEPOINT Advisers Ltd and other minority shareholders to acquire a majority stake in Pret A Manger Holdings Ltd.

JAB Consumer Fund and JAB Holding Company are investment vehicles of JAB Holding Company SARL, while BRIDGEPOINT Advisers is a private equity company.

Pret is involved in the ready-to-eat food business and offers a wide range of vegetarian or vegan sandwiches and salads through 530 stores worldwide.

Pret and BRIDGEPOINT are both based in the UK.
