Italian retail consortium Coop Consorzio Nord Ovest is widening its use of the Relex Solutions platform to link supply chain and commercial planning across a network of approximately 240 stores.
The move comes after the implementation of distribution centre and channel forecasting and replenishment for grocery and frozen goods in December 2024.

Under the expanded scope, the consortium will add store forecasting and replenishment, space planning, assortment optimisation and promotions to its use of the Relex platform.
Coop Consorzio Nord Ovest technology and digital transformation head Alberto Pelizzaro said: “With Relex, we are moving toward a unified and governed planning environment that improves key performance indicator visibility, strengthens promotion measurement, increases service levels, and supports better margin management.
“This programme will enable us to make more informed, data-driven decisions, leveraging advanced analytics and AI to build a solid foundation for long-term transformation.”
Relex partner Sopra Steria Next will deliver consulting, implementation and change management services for the project.
The consortium said it required improved measurement of key performance indicators, assessment of past promotions, enhanced service levels and higher marginality.
By connecting store-level forecasting and replenishment with planograms, floor planning, assortment optimisation and promotion evaluation on a single platform, the consortium aims to create an end-to-end planning process from distribution centre to shelf.
Its stated objectives include better on-shelf availability and service levels, lower excess inventory and waste, and stronger margins through assortment decisions and measurement of promotion effectiveness.
The work with Relex started in February 2025 with an initial pilot covering warehouse management across a network of more than 230 Coop-branded stores.
That phase centred on improving warehouse-level replenishment in line with the consortium’s specific business rules, with the aim of strengthening inventory management and reordering processes for the three associated cooperatives.
Once consolidated, the consortium would extend those optimisations from the distribution centre level to individual stores.
Relex Solutions EMEA senior vice-president Jason Berry added: “We’re happy to support Coop Consorzio Nord Ovest in strengthening critical supply chain and merchandising processes with better KPI measurement and deeper promotional performance insights.”
