Supermarket chain Food Lion is set to open 92 remodelled stores in Greater Myrtle Beach, Florence, Columbia and Charleston areas of South Carolina (SC), US on 17 July.

In March this year, the US grocery chain announced plans to make a $158m capital investment to remodel the 92 stores. The investment was used to fully remodel stores, which included new signage and product portfolio expansion.

Food Lion also hired around 2,000 new associates across the stores in an effort to enhance customer experience.

Food Lion president Meg Ham said: “Food Lion has nourished our neighbours in the greater SC community for 43 years, and we’re excited to bring these improvements to our 92 local stores.
