Hudson Group selects PCMS PoS solution

Retail technology provider PCMS Group's Vision Commerce Suite has been selected by US-based Hudson Group for its point of sale (PoS) commerce system.

Retail technology provider PCMS Group’s Vision Commerce Suite has been selected by US-based Hudson Group for its point of sale (PoS) commerce system.

The retailer chose Vision Commerce Suite based on its scalable architecture and capability to integrate all retail and hospitality PoS functionality.

PCMS CEO Andy Winans said: “Vision Commerce Suite will enable Hudson Group to deliver a faster, more flexible and more reliable customer service experience for the travellers who count on their stores every day.

“We pride ourselves on the scalability of our solutions. Hudson Group serves more than 300,000 daily passengers meaning over 100 million transactions will be processed annually on Vision Commerce Suite.

The retail group currently has a network of more than 1,050 stores in 87 airport and transportation terminal locations in the US and Canada.

It operates stores under major brands that include Hudson, Hudson News and Hudson Booksellers offering a range of products across various retail verticals such as travel essentials, convenience, food and beverage, and specialty.

Hudson Group senior vice-president and chief information officer David Stubbs said: “For over 30 years, Hudson Group has set the industry standard in travel retail. We selected PCMS for its ability to deliver a more versatile and responsive customer experience, and a wider choice for our customers to engage with our flagship brands.”

Earlier this month, the travel retail chain received a ten-year contract to open and operate new retail concepts at Indianapolis International Airport (IND).
