Finnish retail group Kesko reported sales of €1.11bn ($1.28bn) for July 2026, up 5.9% year-on-year, or 5.4% in comparable terms, with increases recorded in its grocery, building and technical, and car trade divisions.

In the grocery trade division, July sales were €584.6m, an increase of 3.9%.

K Group grocery stores sales rose 5.1% while sales in K-Citymarket’s home and speciality goods trade increased. Kespro’s sales declined by 1.8%.

Sales in the building and technical trade division came to €398.8m in July, up 7.4%, or 6.2% in comparable terms.

On a comparable basis, sales in building and home improvement trade increased by 2.7%, while technical trade sales rose 10.7%.

By market, the division’s comparable sales increased by 7.2% in Finland, 7.5% in Sweden, 5.7% in Norway, 3.5% in Denmark and 9.6% in Poland.

In the car trade division, July sales totalled €133.7m, up 10.5%.

Car trade sales increased by 11%, with growth in new cars, used cars and services, while sports trade sales rose by 6.9%.

In Finland, Kesko’s July sales were €896m, up 5.5%. Sales in other countries totalled €218.4m, up 7.5%, or 5.3% in comparable terms.

For January to July 2026, Kesko Group sales reached €7.67bn, representing an increase of 6.5%, or 4.7% in comparable terms.

Over the period, grocery trade sales rose 3.0% to €3.81bn, building and technical trade sales increased 12.1% to €3.04bn, and car trade sales rose 4.3% to €825.7m.

Kesko said comparable change percentages were calculated in local currencies and excluded the impact of acquisitions, divestments and other structural arrangements completed.

Reported sales include acquisitions and divestments completed last year in accordance with their completion dates.

Kesko president and CEO Jorma Rauhala said: “Kesko’s sales continued to grow in July, in total by 5.9%. Sales grew in all three divisions. Sales for the grocery trade division increased by 3.9%.”

In June, Kesko agreed to purchase the Swedish, Norwegian and Danish businesses of technical trade operator Dahl from France’s Saint-Gobain for €1.20bn, marking the largest deal in Kesko’s history.
