US-based department store chain Kohl’s has expanded its Self-Pickup service to all stores across the nation in an effort to strengthen its omnichannel foundation.

Launched as part of Kohl’s commitment to improving its shopping experience, the service is now available on eligible orders at more than 1,100 Kohl’s stores.

Customers can choose In-Store Pickup while ordering to make use of the ‘hassle-free’ Self-Pickup service.

They will receive a ‘Ready for Pickup’ email that also specifies their designated Self-Pickup area.

Kohl’s chief technology officer Siobhán McFeeney said: “Our teams have been working hard to ensure Kohl’s Self-Pickup service was available for all of our customers ahead of the holiday rush.

“At Kohl’s, we’re focused on listening to what shoppers want, and using technology to make it as easy as possible for families to get everything they need quickly, and through a simple experience.”

Kohl’s expanded the service after receiving positive feedback from customers.

The company is combining its store network and digital business to meet customers’ expectations and demand.

It currently has a store within 15 miles of 80% of American citizens.

McFeeney added: “Our customers love the convenience of same-day Buy Online, Pickup In-Store, and now we’re taking the experience to the next level.

“With some of the busiest months ahead for both customers and associates, we’re excited to offer Self-Pickup at every store for an easier and more efficient omnichannel experience.”

Based in Wisconsin, Kohl’s sells products from more than 1,100 stores in 49 US states, as well as its website and mobile app.

Last month, the retailer launched Discover @ Kohl’s, a store experience that curates new and seasonally relevant brands for the back-to-school season.

Discover @ Kohl’s will have a dedicated back-to-school area that offers new brands, products and school supplies from banners such as Ivory Ella, Yoobi and Teleties.
