European fashion retailer Mango is set to open 20 new stores in the UK in 2024 as part of its ongoing brand consolidation and expansion efforts.
The growth strategy focuses on bolstering its presence in London and Scotland, while also marking its debut in cities across central and southern England and a venture into Northern Ireland.
The fashion retailer plans four new stores in London following the February 2024 opening at the Windsor Yards shopping centre in Windsor.
In Scotland, stores will open in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
All the upcoming Mango stores are expected to feature the brand’s “New Med” concept, a Mediterranean-style approach emphasising sustainability and architectural harmony.
Its concept design will feature neutral tones and sustainable materials such as ceramics, tuff [a type of rock], marble, esparto grass, wood and leather.

By GlobalDataMango expansion and franchising director Daniel López said: “The UK is one of the priority markets for Mango’s international growth. The increased presence in London and our arrival this year in some cities where we have not been present until now will consolidate the Mango brand and help us to strengthen it internationally.”
The Spanish brand first entered the British market in 1999 with its flagship store on Oxford Street in London. It expanded to Manchester, Edinburgh and Derby in 2021.
The following year saw further growth in the north with its Glasgow Fort and Newcastle Elden Square stores, and in the south outlets in Dartford’s Bluewater shopping centre and at London’s Battersea Power Station.
From 2023 to 2024 Mango inaugurated ten stores with a focus on the southern and central UK. There was a significant opening in Westfield Stratford City in east London and a first-time store in Brighton’s Churchill Square.
By the end of the 2023 financial year, Mango’s UK presence encompassed 60 locations and included company-owned stores, franchises, department store corners and an online sales channel.
The brand also recently announced its expansion plans for the US, with key openings planned in Washington DC and Boston.
