Dutch discount store chain Action has chosen the Bamboo Rose product lifecycle management (PLM) and sourcing platform in order to develop its international business.

Action agreed to the deal with the retail solutions provider to accelerate time to market, reduce manual workload and operations costs, as well as provide data integrity and visibility required for its global sourcing operation.

Action buying and merchandising director Simon Hathway said: “We were impressed with the Bamboo Rose team’s retail expertise and their very different approach to PLM and sourcing, which focuses on speed and digital and is in the cloud.

“By going digital, retailers can cut extra cost and time out of the sourcing phase while gathering critical feedback from the supply chain, all without compromising product quality.”

“The Bamboo Rose platform will support our continued international growth and effectively support sourcing surprising products at the lowest prices.”

In addition to Action, other brands in the retailing and grocery portfolio of Bamboo Rose include Auchan, Woolworths, Shoprite and Family Dollar.

Bamboo Rose president Jonathan Baron said: “We’re hyperfocused on helping retailers shorten the product development timeframe, and one important component of that process is digital sourcing.

“By going digital, retailers can cut extra cost and time out of the sourcing phase while gathering critical feedback from the supply chain, all without compromising product quality.”

Action has international presence with a network of over 900 stores in Europe and a portfolio of more than 6,000 products from 13 categories.

Bamboo Rose combines modern PLM, sourcing, global trade management (GTM) and P2P, offering retailers a simplified approach to product creation and faster market delivery of products.
