UK retail chain ASDA has signed an agreement to deploy commerce-enabling technology provider First Data’s B2B eCommerce gift card storefront.
The agreement will enable ASDA to sell its gift cards to other businesses.

First Data gift solutions head and senior vice-president Dom Morea said: “Corporate gift cards are extremely popular and represent a tremendous opportunity for businesses to reward their employees.
“First Data’s B2B eCommerce storefront solution allows companies to access this opportunity without using internal resources, giving our clients a simpler way to administer and manage corporate gift card programmes.”
Companies willing to purchase ASDA gift cards will have to navigate through an ASDA-branded website, which will be managed by First Data.
Representatives of the interested companies need to log in before ordering the gift cards.
First Data network and security solutions head and executive vice-president Barry McCarthy said: “First Data provides clients with end-to-end gift solutions from card design and issuing to fraud prevention and analytics.
“These unique assets help companies build customer loyalty, reach new audiences and increase brand awareness.”
Owned by Walmart, ASDA operates more than 600 stores across the UK.
