Security systems services company Diebold Nixdorf has collaborated with Swedish software company Datema Retail for mobile self-scanning solutions in a bid to drive connected commerce in the retail market.
Diebold will add Datema Retail’s mobile self-scanning solutions as a key component to its TPiSHOP self-scanning software solution for an improved shopping experience.
The software can be integrated into the point-of-sale (POS) and back-end components of Diebold's TP application suite, as well as retailers' customer loyalty programmes that run on the company’s software platform.
Diebold Nixdorf retail senior vice-president Thomas Fell said: "This partnership gives us an opportunity to expand our self-scanning portfolio to include a proven solution that both retailers and consumers accept.

With the acquisition, Datema Retail will be able to expand its market presence.
Operating in Scandinavia for more than 30 years, the company’s mobile self-scanning solution is deployed by several retailers in the Nordic region.

Part of the Datema Group, the company develops software for mobile scanning and cross-channel services such as Click & Collect.
