Idea Cellular has collaborated with online and offline retailers and merchants to launch its new Retailer Assisted Model in India.
The launch is part of the company’s efforts to drive usage of value-added products with retail outlets for its wallet customers.
With the new Retailer Assisted Model in place, retailers will be able to conduct transactions with the Idea Money Wallet without using an app.
The company said in a statement that these transactions also include value-added services for airline/bus ticket and hotel booking customers.
Other services include the regular domestic money remittance (DMR) and other recharges, as well as utility bill payments.
Aditya Birla Idea Payments Bank CEO Sudhakar Ramasubramanian said: “With less than 15% of internet users in India who actually buy digitally, we feel that the Retailer Assisted Module will also help new-to-digital customers get online and experience the convenience and benefits of e-commerce.
“This platform will also help our retailer network reap the benefits of going digital by reaching out to the customers with a plethora of products and services, and earn additional income.”
The company’s latest move focuses on encouraging its mobile customers to easily process digital transactions.
