Cloud-based business application provider Infor has signed an agreement to purchase Starmount, a store systems supplier serving large and mid-market retailers.
Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
The transaction is expected to close within 30 days.
Following the completion of the acquisition, Starmount will offer point-of-sale, mobile shopping assistant, store inventory management products and a commerce hub that will help engage shoppers, streamline operations and support cross-channel customer interactions.
This purchase will enable Infor to expedite delivery of Infor CloudSuite Retail, a suite of cloud-based enterprise applications designed for retail market.
Infor customer experience and digital vice-president Wade Gerten said: “The market is littered with antiquated software built 20 or 30 years ago that just can’t provide what modern retailers need.
