UK-based department store chain John Lewis has opened two new distribution centres in Milton Keynes to address growing online sales and expedite delivery.

The new distribution centres have created almost 500 new jobs.

The company has invested £150m on the new distribution centres.

This investment in Magna Park 2 and 3 facilities is part of the firm's £500m five-year investment plan to enhance its online operations and distribution network.

John Lewis operations manager Dino Rocos was quoted by edp24.co.uk as saying: “Our distribution centres are at the heart of our business and these advanced facilities enable us to adapt to the ever-evolving retail market.

“Customers want quick and convenient deliveries and fast replenishment of our shops, this investment puts us in a strong position for the years to come.”
