Retail delivery service provider Instacart has expanded its operations into Dallas, Texas, US, marking the company's fourth market in the state.

Instacart provides delivery services to customers of Whole Foods Market, Central Market, Petco, Spec's, Total Wine & More, Kroger and Tom Thumb.

The company delivers products in less than hour.

"We've seen incredible growth and momentum over the last 12 months in our existing Texas markets."

With this expansion, Instacart serves more than three million people and approximately 1.2 million households across Texas, including 90,000 households in Dallas.

The firm launched its service in Austin and Houston in 2014. In these two markets, it has seen delivery volume increase by more than 10% month-over-month since launch.

Instacart general manager Chad Shepler said: "We've seen incredible growth and momentum over the last 12 months in our existing Texas markets.

"The customer demand in Dallas has been off the charts, and we're proud to be able to give Dallas residents convenient and quick access to fresh groceries whenever they want."

Founded in San Francisco in 2012, Instacart launched its service in San Diego, California, last week.

With these two new regions, Instacart now provides delivery services in 25 markets across the US.
