Supermarket chain Tesco has collaborated with CPI Card Group to relaunch the Tesco Clubcard across the UK.
The technology involved in the contactless loyalty card developed for Tesco will have a tap or hover at the till points.
CPI Card Group UK operations director Scott Maxted said: “CPI has invested significantly in market leading capabilities to increase capacity and innovate our markets, including a unique high-speed personalisation platform that encodes RFID and magnetic stripe, while offering dual DOD inkjet personalisation to both faces of the card, in one pass.”
In connection with the development of the contactless card and bespoke red core, CPI advised on the technology requirements for functionality and aesthetics.
CPI Card Group UK managing director Nick Cahn said: “The new RFID loyalty Clubcard will help Tesco make further enhancements to what is already a fantastic reward programme.”
The company has two manufacturing facilities, in addition to a design centre designated for the gift, loyalty and membership markets, providing physical and digital card-based and fob solutions.
CPI Card Group provides payment card production and related services. It offers a single platform for credit, debit and prepaid debit cards including EMV chip, personalisation, instant issuance, fulfillment and mobile payment services.
