During one of the most thrilling PBR World Finals, held in Las Vegas from October 23-27, J.B. Mauney successfully rode all six bulls to win both the PBR World Champion and the PBR World Finals Champion titles. Additionally, Mauney is one of only three riders in PBR history to win the world title and the event average in the same year. On the final day of the World Finals, Mauney scored 93 points on his last bull, Wipeout, to win. Mauney is the first American to win the PBR World Championship since 2009. Over the past year, Mauney has earned a total of 15,695.50 points; and is the first rider in PBR history to win four consecutive events at the elite level.

"J.B.’s efforts were heroic. He never held back, and delivered the most dramatic second-half comeback in the history of the PBR. The whole Ariat team is so proud of J.B.’s accomplishments this past weekend and this entire year," said Susan Alcala, vice president of partnership marketing. "Ariat is honored to have J.B. represent our brand; we respect his commitment to the sport of bull riding, and couldn’t be happier for him."

In August, Mauney made history riding the legendary Bushwacker during PBR’s Built Ford Tough Series event in Tulsa. Bushwacker has earned the Bull of the Year award for 2013; Ariat congratulates Julio Moreno, owner of Bushwacker and an Ariat ambassador.
