US-based discount store company Ross Stores has expanded its store network with the opening of 27 new stores in June and July 2023.

The retailer opened 18 Ross Dress for Less (Ross) and nine dd’s DISCOUNTS stores across 14 states during this period.

The openings are in line with the company’s plan to add approximately 100 new stores including 75 Ross and 25 dd’s DISCOUNTS in fiscal 2023.

Ross Stores property development executive vice-president Gregg McGillis said: “These recent openings reflect our ongoing plans to continue building our presence in both existing and newer markets.

“This summer, Ross Dress for Less opened its inaugural six stores in the state of Michigan and dd’s expanded its presence in Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania. Looking ahead, we remain confident in our ability to grow to at least 2,900 Ross Dress for Less and 700 dd’s DISCOUNTS locations over time.”

Currently, the company operates 2,061 stores under Ross Dress for Less and dd’s DISCOUNTS banners in 41 states, the District of Columbia and Guam.
