Türkiye’s e-commerce company Trendyol, an affiliate of the Alibaba Group, has entered a partnership with the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The collaboration will see Trendyol serve as official e-commerce services partner to the IOC for Türkiye and the European Economic Area nations.

The partnership is part of a strategic move by Trendyol’s investor, Alibaba Group, which is a Worldwide Olympic Partner.

Through the collaboration, Trendyol will have access to Olympic marks and imagery for branding purposes.

The two parties also entered into a licensing agreement which enables the e-commerce retailer to create, produce and sell Olympic-themed merchandise.

The collection includes dresses, polo shirts, t-shirts, shorts, and accessories, all featuring designs inspired by the Olympic Games.

The exclusive Olympic collection will be available on Trendyol’s platforms across countries including Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and the United Arab Emirates.

The company will manufacture the products in Türkiye.

IOC television and marketing services managing director Anne-Sophie Voumard stated: “The IOC is pleased that Trendyol will use its design and manufacturing skills in Türkiye to help bring the Olympic apparel collection to different audiences and Olympic fans.”

The partnership with the IOC is a continuation of Trendyol’s commitment to supporting sports and athletes in the country and beyond.

Trendyol also sponsors the Turkish national volleyball and football teams, and the title for the Turkish Süper Lig and 1. Lig for the 2023 to 2024 season.

Trendyol Group president Çağlayan Çetin stated: “This activity covers our domestic and international platform footprint, allows us to showcase the work of Turkish designers and manufacturers on the world stage, and continues our sponsorship of major sporting events and teams.”
