US-based logistics solutions provider UPS has launched a platform integration with Canadian e-commerce company Shopify.
Under the partnership, UPS’s premium services will be made available to Shopify’s small business clients.
Shopify’s clients will now receive pre-negotiated domestic and international rates, as well as a streamlined shipping and fulfilment solution.
The integration of UPS services and solutions into the Shopify platform allows businesses to manage all aspects of shipping and fulfilment in one place.
UPS global product innovation vice-president Jerome Roberts said: “By embedding UPS natively into Shopify’s platform, merchants will get the breadth and reliability of UPS’s services to more than 220 countries and territories, while easily managing all aspects of shipping and fulfilment in one place.
“Shopify merchants now have access to UPS’s industry-leading tools and can provide the same high-quality services as large e-commerce companies.”
Additionally, businesses will have access to services such as UPS 2nd Day Air and UPS Ground.
As part of the integration, tracking and billing have been incorporated into Shopify to help companies reduce the time and effort associated with keeping up with the status and cost of shipments.
Future enhancements to Shopify Shipping could include savings on pick-ups and the ability to ship to 8,800 UPS Access Point locations.
In addition, UPS My Choice service could be made available to customers to personalise delivery times and locations.
Other features include online solutions for returns and access to UPS’s suite of e-commerce solutions.
