The National Retail Federation (NRF) has announced the launch of NRF Rev, a new event focused on the future of reverse logistics and retail sustainability.
Scheduled to debut in January 2026, the conference aims to address evolving industry challenges around product returns, supply chain circularity, and consumer demand for more sustainable practices.
Hosted at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel from 11 to 12 January, NRF Rev will run alongside NRF 2026: Retail’s Big Show, which takes place nearby at the Javits Convention Center from 11 to 13 January.
Focus on returns management and circular economy
Reverse logistics—the process of managing product returns and reintroducing goods into the supply chain—is gaining traction as a critical part of retail operations.
With rising online shopping volumes and increased consumer expectations, retailers are under growing pressure to improve returns management while reducing environmental impact.
According to NRF Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability Scot Case, “NRF Rev will provide retailers with the latest technology and resources to redefine their returns processes, increase customer loyalty and support sustainability initiatives.”

Conference features technology showcase and networking
The 2026 conference will include keynote presentations, panel discussions, and interactive roundtables. Delegates will also have access to an expo featuring the latest innovations in returns processing, reverse logistics software, and sustainable packaging solutions.
Industry professionals attending NRF Rev will be able to network with peers and explore tools that support cost-effective and environmentally responsible retail operations.
Registration for NRF Rev is set to open on 8 September.
Event marks continued focus on sustainability in retail
The new event builds on NRF’s acquisition of the Reverse Logistics Association (RLA) in 2023. That move reflected the federation’s broader commitment to sustainable retail practices and environmental responsibility.
As concerns grow over the environmental footprint of e-commerce and the retail sector, reverse logistics and sustainable supply chains are increasingly seen as areas where businesses can drive measurable impact.
By offering a platform dedicated to these issues, NRF Rev aims to foster collaboration among retailers and stakeholders committed to improving sustainability outcomes across the industry.
