Ace Hardware has partnered with Uber Technologies to provide on-demand delivery from more than 3,700 locations across all 50 US states through Uber Eats.
Under the deal, shoppers can use the Uber Eats app to buy home improvement items, including gardening products and repair supplies, for either immediate or scheduled delivery.
The rollout is already live, combining Ace’s store footprint with Uber’s delivery network.
The tie-up is the latest step in Uber Eats’ move beyond restaurant orders into retail segments such as home improvement, beauty and electronics.
Uber North America grocery and retail head Hashim Amin said: “Consumers are increasingly turning to Uber Eats for more than just meals."
Uber Eats said it brought on more than 1,000 retailers worldwide last year and added over 50,000 retail locations in the US.
Ace Hardware digital head Bill Kiss said: “Ace is built on a network of locally owned stores that are deeply rooted in the communities they serve, and partnering with Uber allows us to meet our customers wherever they are.
“Whether they’re tackling a last-minute project or planning ahead, our customers now have greater access to fast, flexible solutions for getting the products they need delivered right to their doorstep.”
Last month, Uber announced a partnership with Ibotta to integrate the latter’s digital promotions into Uber’s grocery and retail operations in the US.
The agreement is designed to extend the reach of the Ibotta Performance Network and give consumer packaged goods brands a way to reach customers at the point of purchase.
According to Ibotta, the arrangement is Uber’s first multi-year exclusive deal with a national digital promotions provider.
