US-based Acosta Group and retail e-commerce management platform CommerceIQ have entered a strategic alliance focused on supporting brands across digital and omnichannel retail.

The partnership brings together Acosta Group’s connected commerce services with CommerceIQ’s retail AI platform, creating a shared operating model intended to improve artificial decision-making across sales, media and content.

Under the agreement, Acosta Group’s connected commerce team will work alongside CommerceIQ to deploy an integrated technology platform that consolidates multiple data streams into a single system.

The alliance positions Acosta Group as connected commerce among the “first” agency teams to operate using an AI-driven model.

As part of the alliance, CommerceIQ specialists focused on client delivery will join the Acosta Group Connected Commerce team to support platform implementation, adoption and ongoing use.

Acosta Group connected commerce president John Carroll said: “This partnership enables us to strategically leverage CommerceIQ's advanced technology and AI-driven capabilities with our own omnichannel expertise, resulting in an ability to act faster, think bigger, and deliver stronger results for our clients - critical in today's fast-moving marketplace.”

The arrangement does not include any equity investment or acquisition, and both companies will continue to operate independently.

Acosta Group works across grocery, consumer packaged goods and consumer electronics, serving more than 3,200 clients.

Its connected commerce services span omnichannel account management, digital shelf management, retail media, full-service Amazon support and shopper marketing.

CommerceIQ provides a retail AI platform used by brands to optimise media spend, improve share of search and generate incremental sales growth.

The platform uses AI teammates to assess large volumes of digital signals, automate reporting and deliver real-time recommendations.

CommerceIQ supports more than 2,200 brands through a global retail network of over 1,450 partners.

CommerceIQ president Rohan Ganeson said: “This strategic alliance will deliver transformative solutions for our shared clients. Moving forward, we will continue to double down on our platform investments, accelerating innovation and delivering best-in-class solutions, with a key focus on advancing agentic AI to unlock new efficiencies across commerce operations.”
