Amazon has extended its grocery collaboration with supermarket chain Iceland to additional cities across the UK, adding Belfast, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Nottingham to the service.
The Belfast introduction represents the first availability of Iceland’s range on Amazon for customers in Northern Ireland.
Shoppers in the newly included cities and neighbouring areas can order Iceland products through Amazon, with delivery available in 60 minutes.
The latest phase broadens regional coverage, bringing a selection of fresh food, everyday grocery lines and household goods to more customers via the online platform.
Amazon grocery partnerships director Russell Jones said: “We are continually working to give customers more choice, value, and flexibility in how they shop for groceries. More customers across the UK can now choose from a wide range of Iceland groceries and household essentials, with a range of convenient, fast delivery options.”
The expansion sits within Amazon’s wider UK grocery arrangements, which also include Morrisons and Co-op.
This year, the company expects to more than double the number of Amazon UK Prime members able to choose from three or more online grocery delivery options.
It projects that more than 80% of UK Prime members will have access to at least one grocery partner.
The UK rollout follows the recent introduction of Amazon Now, which provides thousands of grocery and household products in around 30 minutes or less within eligible London postcodes.
Customers in the newly added locations can access Iceland’s range via Amazon.co.uk or the Amazon app, choose same-day or next-day delivery, and qualify for free delivery on eligible orders with a Prime membership.
Iceland Foods CEO Tarsem Dhaliwal added: “This extension of our partnership with Amazon means that we can serve even more communities nationwide with Iceland's quality products, all with the convenience of Amazon's shopping experience.”
In the US, Amazon last month outlined plans to shut its Amazon Go and Amazon Fresh physical grocery stores as it shifts emphasis towards same-day delivery and the continued expansion of Whole Foods Market.
The company said it already offers online grocery delivery in more than 5,000 locations across the US, many supported by same-day fulfilment that combines fresh food with other items, and intends to extend this service to further communities in 2026.
