US grocery tech company Instacart has signed an exclusive same-day delivery partnership with Tractor Supply-owned retailer Petsense, extending marketplace access to more than 130 stores.
The arrangement lets shoppers browse and order from Petsense's inventory through the Instacart app or site, with delivery windows as short as one hour in some areas.
Instacart commercial partnerships vice-president Blake Wallace said: “Petsense has built a loyal following among pet owners who care deeply about the well-being of their animals.
“We are thrilled to be Petsense's exclusive same-day delivery partner, making it easier than ever for customers to get the speciality products their pets love, whenever they need them.”
Instacart confirmed that Petsense products will carry no additional delivery-related markup once listed on the platform.
Petsense vice-president Shawn Blankenship said: “By partnering with Instacart to offer same-day delivery, customers can now receive our top-quality assortment of pet food and supplies in as little as an hour. This partnership represents our commitment to being the most convenient and dependable place to shop for your pets.”
The Petsense deal follows an earlier partnership established last month between Instacart and parent company Tractor Supply, which brought same-day delivery to more than 2,400 Tractor Supply locations across the country and opened up its full catalogue to Instacart shoppers.
Instacart has also been expanding into other retail categories recently.
Earlier this month, it added Academy Sports + Outdoors as a delivery partner, giving customers browsing access to the sporting goods chain's apparel, camping and fishing gear, fitness equipment, footwear, and private label lines.
