Morrisons has reduced prices on thousands of products in its supermarkets and online, in a move it says is aimed at cutting the cost of everyday shopping.

The cuts cover a wide mix of regular-purchase lines, spanning fresh food, own-label essentials and a selection of branded products.

Morrisons said the new prices will remain in place throughout this month, with signage in stores and online indicating which products have been discounted.

Morrisons pricing and customer director Alex Paver said: “By cutting prices across thousands of key products, we’re helping customers keep the cost of the weekly shop down. This reflects our continued commitment to helping customers spend less, while enjoying the quality Morrisons is known for.”

The retailer has also extended further reductions across the Morrisons Savers range, which includes both food and household items.

Examples include Morrisons Savers Apple Juice Drink, Morrisons Savers Six Double Toilet Rolls and Morrisons Essentials Fresh Mint Toothpaste.

Alongside own-brand and value ranges, Morrisons has cut prices on selected branded goods.

The latest round of reductions follows changes made in January, when Morrisons lowered prices on 2,500 products across fresh items, cupboard essentials and branded lines.

It also introduced seasonal reductions ahead of Easter, as well as discounts on meat and fish.
