UK consumer technology company Nothing has launched its first retail outlet in India, opening a new store in Bengaluru as it expands its physical presence in the country.

Named the Nothing Store Bengaluru, the site covers 5,032ft² over two floors and has been set up as a retail and experience venue with an emphasis on community activity.

The company said the interior takes cues from 1970s-era assembly lines and workshop spaces, reflecting its design approach in a more hands-on, interactive setting.

The business added that the Bengaluru outlet is the “only” location worldwide where customers can personalise Nothing products.

The store also includes a dedicated studio intended for creator unboxing and content production.

According to the company, alongside areas for selling Nothing and its sub-brand CMF devices, as well as branded merchandise.

Nothing added that the store includes a community hangout zone, an in-house coffee shop, seating areas, and space allocated for workshops and cultural programming.

The design also incorporates interactive features such as vending machines, claw games and conveyor-belt-style displays.

Nothing said it intends the store to operate as a community hub, hosting meet-ups and collaborations with local creators.

The company pointed to Bengaluru’s role as India’s technology centre, along with Indiranagar’s position as a cultural and lifestyle district, as key reasons behind the location, adding that limited-run installations by local creators are planned for the space.

In its statement, Nothing said: “As India’s innovation capital, Bengaluru is home to a new generation that has shaped India’s tech landscape by not playing by the rules, bringing together early adopters, creators and cultural voices who seek novel experiences that reflect their identity.

“With its tree-lined streets and creative energy, Indiranagar has long served as the city's cultural and lifestyle hub - making it a natural home for the first Nothing Store in India.”

The company said further retail openings are planned, with sites scheduled for the US and Japan.
