Specialist sporting goods chain Pure Hockey has acquired Perani’s Hockey World, expanding its US store network to more than 110 sites.

As part of the deal, the 22 acquired stores in the Midwest will be rebranded as Pure Hockey.

The companies did not disclose the financial terms of the transaction.

The acquisition strengthens Pure Hockey’s footprint across the Midwest and surrounding markets, where Perani’s Hockey World has built its presence over the past five decades.

Pure Hockey said staff currently working at Perani’s locations will remain in place as the business is integrated.

Headquartered in Flint, Michigan, Perani’s Hockey World was established in 1976 by ice hockey player Bob Perani.

Customers at those stores will gain access to Pure Hockey’s in-store offerings, including skate fitting, sharpening and profiling, as well as the company’s Pure Rewards loyalty scheme and omnichannel retail platform.

Pure Hockey said its growth strategy combines organic expansion with targeted acquisitions.
