Tesco widens rapid delivery access with Uber Eats and Deliveroo partnerships

Tesco is widening rapid grocery delivery access through new collaborations with Uber Eats and Deliveroo, extending its existing Whoosh service to more UK shoppers.

Uber Eats will begin carrying Tesco products from August, with Deliveroo following later in the year.

Under the new arrangements with Uber Eats and Deliveroo, customers will be able to order from thousands of Tesco lines spanning groceries, fresh food, household goods and everyday essentials.

Shoppers using these two platforms will, for the first time, be able to access a range of Clubcard Prices and earn Clubcard points – a benefit previously confined to Tesco's own channels.

The arrangements sit alongside Tesco's own store-to-door delivery operation Whoosh, rather than replacing it.

Whoosh has been running since 2021 and posted 51% sales growth last year, with approximately 1.5 million customers now using it across the country.

The service runs in parallel with Tesco's established home shopping service, which covers over 99% of the UK population and handles more than 1.2 million orders weekly.

Tesco's online grocery arm is currently valued at £7.5bn ($10.03bn).

Tesco UK CEO Ashwin Prasad said: “Whoosh has transformed the way millions of customers shop with Tesco, offering speed, convenience and great value through the power of Clubcard.

“By combining Tesco's market-leading range, quality and value with the scale of Uber Eats and Deliveroo, we're making it even easier for more customers to shop with Tesco in the way that suits them best.”

The delivery expansion comes weeks after a report indicated Tesco is weighing a sale of its Central and Eastern European operations – a step that would end a three-decade presence in the region.

A disposal would leave Tesco's international footprint confined to the UK and Ireland, following an earlier attempt to build a new supermarket chain in the US that did not succeed.

The developments also follow Tesco's latest quarterly results, in which the group reported sales of £16.82bn for the 13 weeks to 30 May 2026, a 1% like-for-like (LfL) rise, with growth recorded across the UK, Ireland and Central Europe.

Sales in the UK and Ireland reached £13.43bn, up 1.8% LfL (2.6% at constant currency rates, 2.8% at actual rates), with two-year LfL growth standing at 7%.
