The Community Residential Mall is located in the Al Habiya area of Motor City in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). It was developed by the retailer Union Coop, one of the UAE’s largest consumer cooperatives.

The opening ceremony for the new shopping mall was held in March 2023. The mall is part of a residential and commercial development undertaken at an estimated cost of Dh100m ($27.2m).

The mall helps Union Coop further expand its presence in the region and is part of its strategic plans to establish family-friendly shopping destinations across Dubai. It offers a unique shopping experience for residents in the area and shoppers of all social groups.

The company opened another commercial centre during the same month in the Al Nahda-2 area with an estimated investment of Dh50m ($13.6m). The Al Nahda Commercial Centre includes 41 commercial stores and a hypermarket.

Community Residential Mall location

The Community Residential Mall is located in the Al Habiya-1 region in Motor City, next to Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road. It is famous for its diverse community of residents and ease of access.

Several major residential areas and commercial developments are part of Motor City, including the Arabian Ranches, Dubai Studio City and Dubai Sports City.

Community Residential Mall details

The residential and commercial project spans seven floors over an area of 493,977ft2 (45,892m2). It includes two basement floors, a ground level, the first floor, a service floor and two residential floors.

The mall includes a hypermarket on the first floor covering an area of 54,766ft2 (5,087m2). The new hypermarket increased Union Coop’s total number of hypermarkets in Dubai to 26. It will offer fresh food and non-food products from local and international brands.

The mall also includes 28 commercial stores covering an area of 24,391ft2 (2,265m2) on the ground and first floors. The stores are leased to national and international brands of restaurants, cafés, salons, pharmacies and perfume shops. More stores are on the first floor as well, located next to the showroom.

The new shopping mall is developed in accordance with the most recent international architectural standards and includes 249 spaces for vehicle parking on the basement and the ground floor.

Key players involved

Al Hashemi, an architectural, engineering and master planning consulting services provider, was the architectural consultant for the Community Residential Mall.

Ginco Contracting, an engineering contracting company, carried out the major construction work for the project.

Details of residential apartments

The project includes 44 residential apartments spread across two floors, including 22 apartments on each floor. The apartments are available in one, two and three-bedroom configurations. The roof floor of the building includes a health club and gym, a multi-purpose hall and a gaming area, which the residents can access.

Projects under development by Union Coop

The Community Residential Mall is part of a series of investments made by Union Coop to expand its presence in Dubai and serve residents of different nationalities. Some projects include the Wadi Al-Safa commercial centre in Wadi Al Safa Fifth District and a Dh113m ($30m) commercial centre in Dubai Silicon Oasis, which is expected to open in February 2024.

Union Coop is also developing the Al Khawaneej Commercial Centre with an estimated investment of Dh100m ($27.2m) and the Jumeirah Commercial Centre with an investment of Dh240m ($65.3m), in addition to a commercial centre in Al-Ain Street.
