REMA 1000 has awarded ITAB Group a new framework agreement covering store interiors and loss prevention solutions for its Norwegian network.
The move extends the grocer’s wider push to modernise in-store operations following earlier technology partnerships.

Effective as of 1 September 2026, the 42-month agreement is valued at Nkr320m ($34.3m) and includes products, services and installation work, although it carries no minimum volume commitments.
ITAB will also supply shopping trolleys and baskets as part of the rollout.
The programme is set to reach all of REMA 1000’s 650 existing stores in Norway.
ITAB said the solutions were developed jointly with the retailer and will support REMA 1000’s refurbishment programme by improving operational efficiency, tightening loss prevention and enhancing the customer experience.
ITAB Group president and CEO Björn Borgman said: “This long-term framework agreement further deepens our close collaboration with REMA 1000 and it also strengthens ITAB’s position as the leading solution partner in store interiors and retail technology in Europe.
“Our solutions contribute to enhanced customer experience and increased in-store security, reduced theft and shrinkage, and optimised customer flows. We are proud to be part of this partnership and look forward to contributing to REMA 1000’s continued success together.”
The latest deal builds on REMA 1000’s broader store transformation agenda.
In July 2025, the Norwegian grocer partnered with GK Software to deploy the Cloud4retail platform across stores to create a more flexible and scalable in-store ecosystem.
That programme included tools such as OmniPOS, MobilePOS, loyalty capabilities and AI-driven personalisation and pricing.
In April 2024, REMA 1000 also teamed up with Market Pay to upgrade in-store payments with its Pay on-site solution.
REMA 1000 operates around 350 stores in Denmark.
