US-based company Amazon’s IT hiring declined 2.5% in July 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 4.52% in July 2021 when compared with June 2021.

IT jobs claimed a 36.74% share in the company’s total hiring activity in July 2021, and recorded a 0.92% growth over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Amazon IT hiring in July 2021

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Amazon, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 78.42% in July 2021, and a 21.43% drop over June 2021, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 9.33% in July 2021, and registered a 64.52% an increase. Computer Support Specialists held a share of 6.11% in July 2021, a 64.79% rise from June 2021.

North America drives IT hiring at Amazon

North America emerged as the leading region in the global retail IT hiring activity in July 2021 with an 82.89% share, which marked an 11.05% drop over the previous month.

Asia-Pacific stood next with 11.34%, registering a 26.94% month-on-month decline. Europe was the third leading region with a 3.84% share and an 18.78% drop over June 2021.

In the fourth place was South & Central America with a share of 1.1% and a month-on-month decline of 25%.Middle East & Africa stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 0.84%, registering a 5.88% drop over the previous month.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s retail industry IT hiring activity with an 80.85% share in July 2021, a 10.24% decline over June 2021. India featured next with an 8.59% share, down 19.95% over the previous month.Canada recorded a 1.8% share, decline of 31.68% compared with June 2021.

Junior Level jobs lead Amazon IT hiring activity in July 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 50.42%, down by 16.56% from June 2021. Entry Level positions with a 34.43% share, a decline of 6.72% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 15.07% share, down 17.92% over June 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.05%, recording a month-on-month decline of 33.33%.
