June 2021 has seen an increase of 2.64% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2021.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 75.24% in June 2021, a 40.51% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 9.85% in June 2021, marking a 16.94% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 8.99% in June 2021, a 10.59% growth from May 2021.

Top five retail companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 40.06% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s retail industry during June 2021 over previous month.
Amazon posted 494 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a decline of 1.2% over the previous month, followed by Alibaba Group Holding with 206 jobs and a 75.03% drop. JD with 117 IT jobs and Coles Group with 29 jobs, recorded a 32.95% growth and a 107.14% increase, respectively, while Coupang recorded a 3.85% decline with 25 job postings during June 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s retail industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s retail industry IT hiring activity with a 37.48% share in June 2021, a 13.08% decline over May 2021. China featured next with a 35.28% share, down 60.87% over the previous month. Australia recorded a 10.71% share, a growth of 21.74% compared with May 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 64.53%, down by 46.34% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 20.46% share, a decline of 2.28% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 14.82% share, up 28.1% over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.19%, recording a month-on-month decline of 88.24%.
