The industry’s overall hiring increased by 15.14% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.

Top five retail companies in Australia’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 48.28% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s retail industry during August 2021 over July 2021.
Woolworths Group posted 48 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a rise of 92% over the previous month, followed by Wesfarmers with 28 jobs and a 75% growth. Coles Group with 27 IT jobs and Amazon with 23 jobs, recorded a 3.85% flat growth and a 91.67% flat growth, respectively, while Harvey Norman Holdings recorded a decline of 62.5% with 3 job postings during August 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 71.94%, up by 21.95% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 22.3% share, registered an increase of 72.22% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 5.76% share, up 33.33% over July 2021.
