France retail industry registered a 1.8% rise in IT hiring activity in July 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 17.35% in July 2021 compared with June 2021.

Out of the retail industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 1.64% share in July 2021, recording decrease of 0.42% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in France retail industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.53% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of France retail industry in July 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 47.06% in July 2021, a 39.13% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 23.53% share, an increase of 60% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 14.71%, registering a flat growth from June 2021.

4) Computer and Information Research Scientists captured a share of 10.29%, up 133.33% over the previous month.

Top five retail companies in France IT recruitment activity in July 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 78.57% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of France retail industry during July 2021 over June 2021.

Groupon posted 28 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Carrefour with 7 jobs and a flat growth. Leroy Merlin with 5 IT jobs and Les Mousquetaires with 5 jobs, recorded a 54.55% drop and a 66.67% increase, respectively, while CarrefourSA recorded a 28.57% decline with 5 job postings during July 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.59%, up by 26.32% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 19.12% share, a growth of 44.44% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 10.29% share, up 75% over June 2021.
