Germany retail industry registered a 0.5% decline in IT hiring activity in June 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.

The industry’s overall hiring an increased by 9.5% in June 2021 compared with May 2021.

Out of the retail industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 8.95% share in June 2021, recording decrease of 1.47% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Germany retail industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.27% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany retail industry in June 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 69.55% in June 2021, a 1.29% drop over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed an 11.82% share, an flat growth over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 9.09%, registering a 13.04% decline from May 2021.

4) Computer and Information Research Scientists captured a share of 3.64%, up 100% over the previous month.

Top five retail companies in Germany IT recruitment activity in June 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 0.56% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany retail industry during June 2021 over May 2021.

Zalando posted 76 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a rise of 7.04% over the previous month, followed by Amazon with 40 jobs and a 14.89% drop. Hornbach Holding AGKGaA with 23 IT jobs and Schwarz Beteiligungs with 19 jobs, recorded a 4.17% drop and a 46.15% increase, respectively, while adidas recorded an 18.18% decline with 18 job postings during June 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 62.27%, down by 8.67% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 21.36% share, a growth of 34.29% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 15.91% share, up 6.06% over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.45%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
