Germany retail industry registered a 6.7% decline in IT hiring activity in July 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 5.33% in July 2021 compared with June 2021.
Out of the retail industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 8.17% share in July 2021, recording decrease of 1.72% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Germany retail industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.74% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany retail industry in July 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 64.41% in July 2021, a 31.74% drop over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 16.38% share, an increase of 31.82% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 10.73%, registering a 32.14% decline from June 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 3.39%, down 14.29% over the previous month.
Top five retail companies in Germany IT recruitment activity in July 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 18.46% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany retail industry during July 2021 over June 2021.
Zalando posted 57 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a drop of 25% over the previous month, followed by Amazon with 49 jobs and a 2.08% growth. Hornbach Holding AGKGaA with 29 IT jobs and adidas with 14 jobs, recorded a 20.83% growth and a 48.15% decline, respectively, while Schwarz Beteiligungs recorded a 50% decline with 10 job postings during July 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 66.67%, down by 20.81% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 16.38% share, a decline of 44.23% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 16.38% share, down 23.68% over June 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.56%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
