Germany’s retail industry registered a 0.5% drop in IT hiring activity in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 1.99% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.
Out of the retail industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 8.07% share in August 2021, recording a decrease of 1.06% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Germany’s retail industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.05% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s retail industry in August 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 64.88% in August 2021, registering a 3.1% flat growth over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 16.1% share, an increase of 50% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 10.24%, registering a 27.59% decline from July 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 3.9%, up 33.33% over the previous month.
Top five retail companies in Germany’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 2.25% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s retail industry during August 2021 over July 2021.
Zalando posted 71 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a rise of 24.56% over the previous month, followed by Hornbach Holding AGKGaA with 37 jobs and a 27.59% growth. Amazon with 26 IT jobs and Schwarz Gruppe with 22 jobs, recorded a 54.39% decline and a 100% flat growth, respectively, while adidas recorded a decline of 25% with 18 job postings during August 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 67.8%, up by 5.3% from July 2021. Entry Level positions with a 16.59% share, registered an increase of 13.33% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 14.63% share, down 11.76% over July 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.98%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
