Netherlands retail industry registered a 1.6% decline in IT hiring activity in July 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.

The industry’s overall hiring decreased by 2.33% in July 2021 compared with June 2021.

Out of the retail industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 6.37% share in July 2021, recording decrease of 1.25% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Netherlands retail industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.51% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Netherlands retail industry in July 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 55.22% in July 2021, a 27.59% growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 22.39% share, an increase of 36.36% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Research Scientists held a share of 10.45%, registering a 133.33% rise from June 2021.

4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 7.46%, up 150% over the previous month.

Top five retail companies in Netherlands IT recruitment activity in July 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 62.5% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Netherlands retail industry during July 2021 over June 2021.

Inter IKEA Holding posted 34 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a rise of 78.95% over the previous month, followed by Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize with 19 jobs and a 26.67% growth. adidas with 8 IT jobs and NIKE with 2 jobs, recorded a 60% growth and a 100% increase, respectively, while Hema recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during July 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 59.7%, up by 17.65% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 29.85% share, a growth of 100% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 8.96% share, up 100% over June 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.49%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
