Spain retail industry registered a 6.2% rise in IT hiring activity in June 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.
The industry’s overall hiring an increased by 16.8% in June 2021 compared with May 2021.

Out of the retail industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 11.71% share in June 2021, recording decrease of 1.92% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Spain retail industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 96.77% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Spain retail industry in June 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 59.68% in June 2021, a 68.18% growth over the previous month.
2) Computer Support Specialists claimed a 12.9% share, an increase of 700% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 11.29%, registering a 30% decline from May 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 6.45%, flat growth over the previous month.
Top five retail companies in Spain IT recruitment activity in June 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 137.5% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Spain retail industry during June 2021 over May 2021.
Ocado Group posted 21 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a rise of 320% over the previous month, followed by Amazon with 16 jobs and a 100% growth. CVS Health with 9 IT jobs and adidas with 8 jobs, recorded an 800% growth and a 14.29% increase, respectively, while Inter IKEA Holding recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during June 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 75.81%, up by 38.24% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 17.74% share, a growth of 1000% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.45% share, up 100% over May 2021.
