Sweden’s retail industry IT recruitment activity rises 4.4% in August 2021

Sweden’s retail industry registered a 4.4% rise in IT hiring activity in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 31.78% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.

Out of the retail industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 17.14% share in August 2021, recording a decrease of 4.9% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Sweden’s retail industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Sweden’s retail industry in August 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 69.33% in August 2021, registering a 23.81% flat growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 20% share, a flat growth over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 5.33%, registering a 20% decline from July 2021.

4) Computer and Information Research Scientists captured a share of 4%, down 62.5% over the previous month.

Top five retail companies in Sweden’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 4.17% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Sweden’s retail industry during August 2021 over July 2021.

H & M Hennes & Mauritz posted 41 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a rise of 46.43% over the previous month, followed by Inter IKEA Holding with 24 jobs and a 36.84% drop. Amazon with 4 IT jobs and ICA Gruppen with 3 jobs, recorded a 33.33% flat growth and a 50% flat growth, respectively, while Axfood recorded an increase of 200% with 3 job postings during August 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 69.33%, up by 1.96% from July 2021. Entry Level positions with a 17.33% share, registered an increase of 225% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 13.33% share, down 41.18% over July 2021.
