A recently granted patent (Publication Number: US11993871B2) discloses an innovative insulating material designed to enhance heat retention for wearers. The material comprises a base material with a high moisture vapor transfer rate (MVTR) of at least 2000 g/m2/24 h, heat-reflecting elements positioned to reflect heat towards the wearer, and a foam-based spacer material facing the wearer. The spacer material, which can include polyacrylate, polyurethane, or polyolefin, is coupled with the base material and can have a thickness between 0.05mm and 0.15mm. The base material features a rippled profile on both surfaces, with cavities formed as a result, and the spacer material can have various patterns like line-shaped, cross-shaped, circle-shaped, or hexagonal-shaped.

Moreover, the patent also covers an article of clothing incorporating this insulating material, where the foam-based spacer material is positioned between the base material and the wearer. The spacer material, which can include polyacrylate, polyurethane, or polyolefin, is designed to enhance heat retention and can have a thickness of approximately 0.1mm. The base material of the clothing article also features a rippled profile on both surfaces, with cavities formed, and the spacer material can have patterns like line-shaped, cross-shaped, circle-shaped, or hexagonal-shaped. This innovative design aims to provide improved insulation and comfort for individuals wearing the clothing article in various conditions.
