The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 28.85% in January 2022 when compared with December 2022.
IT jobs claimed an 11.41% share in the company’s total hiring activity in January 2022, and recorded a 1.35% growth over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Alibaba Group Holding IT hiring in January 2022
Out of the total IT job titles posted by Alibaba Group Holding, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 90.56% in January 2022, and a 56.99% drop over December 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 5.56% in January 2022, and registered a decline of 61.54%. Computer Support Specialists held a share of 2.22% in January 2022, a 77.78% drop from December 2022.
Asia-Pacific drives IT hiring at Alibaba Group Holding
Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global retail IT hiring activity in January 2022 with a 92.22% share, which marked a 58.4% drop over the previous month.
Europe stood next with 3.89%, registering a 65% month-on-month decline. North America was the third leading region with a 3.89% share and a 133.33% rise over December 2022.
China commanded a leading presence in the region’s retail industry IT hiring activity with an 89.44% share in January 2022, a 58.93% decline over December 2022. US featured next with a 3.89% share, up 133.33% over the previous month. Spain recorded a 1.67% share, a decline of 80% compared with December 2022.
Junior Level jobs lead Alibaba Group Holding IT hiring activity in January 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.89%, down by 52.33% from December 2022. Mid Level positions with a 22.22% share, a decline of 65.81% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 2.22% share, down 71.43% over December 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1.67%, recording a month-on-month decline of 81.25%.
