The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 25.44% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 28.2% share in the company’s total hiring activity in October 2022, and recorded a 1.93% decline over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Amazon IT hiring in October 2022
Out of the total IT job titles posted by Amazon, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 79.09% in October 2022, and a 26.17% drop over September 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 12.12% in October 2022, and registered a decline of 2.36%. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 3.57% in October 2022, a 19.78% drop from September 2022.

North America emerged as the leading region in the global retail IT hiring activity in October 2022 with a 70.25% share, which marked a 17.69% drop over the previous month.
Europe stood next with 13.73%, registering a 19.94% month-on-month decline. Asia-Pacific was the third leading region with a 12.99% share and a 40.22% drop over September 2022.
In the fourth place was South & Central America with a share of 2.2% and a month-on-month decline of 26.23%. Middle East & Africa stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 0.83%, registering a 73.85% drop over the previous month.
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s retail industry IT hiring activity with a 63.17% share in October 2022, a 12.34% decline over September 2022. India featured next with a 6.06% share, down 57.53% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 5.76% share, a decline of 53.17% compared with September 2022.
Junior Level jobs lead Amazon IT hiring activity in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 51.83%, down by 15.53% from September 2022. Entry Level positions with a 27.94% share, a decline of 38.63% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 20.08% share, down 14.55% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.15%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
