US-based company Amazon’s IT hiring declined 5.1% in June 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 8.01% in June 2022 when compared with May 2022.
IT jobs claimed a 29.38% share in the company’s total hiring activity in June 2022, and recorded a 0.98% growth over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Amazon IT hiring in June 2022
Out of the total IT job titles posted by Amazon, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 84.55% in June 2022, and a 10.16% drop over May 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 8.18% in June 2022, and registered a decline of 5.61%. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 4.28% in June 2022, a 5.61% drop from May 2022.

North America emerged as the leading region in the global retail IT hiring activity in June 2022 with a 90.32% share, which marked an 11.72% rise over the previous month.
Asia-Pacific stood next with 4.45%, registering a 73.84% month-on-month decline. Europe was the third leading region with a 3.64% share and a 68.54% drop over May 2022.
In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 0.95% and a month-on-month decline of 8.89%. South & Central America stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 0.65%, registering a 45.1% drop over the previous month.
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s retail industry IT hiring activity with an 89.58% share in June 2022, a 23.93% growth over May 2022. China featured next with a 1.57% share, flat growth over the previous month. The UK recorded a 0.81% share, a decline of 77.12% compared with May 2022.
Junior Level jobs lead Amazon IT hiring activity in June 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 47.5%, down by 6% from May 2022. Entry Level positions with a 36.15% share, a decline of 13.57% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 16.26% share, down 15.11% over May 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.09%, recording a month-on-month decline of 20%.
