US-based company Amazon’s IT hiring declined 50.7% in November 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 38.74% in November 2022 when compared with October 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 22.57% share in the company’s total hiring activity in November 2022, and recorded a 6.84% decline over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Amazon IT hiring in November 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Amazon, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 65.19% in November 2022, and an 87.4% drop over October 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 14.56% in November 2022, and registered a decline of 81.45%. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 10.76% in November 2022, a 54.05% drop from October 2022.

North America drives IT hiring at Amazon

North America emerged as the leading region in the global retail IT hiring activity in November 2022 with an 85.44% share, which marked an 80.84% drop over the previous month.

Europe stood next with 5.38%, registering a 94.35% month-on-month decline. Asia-Pacific was the third leading region with a 5.06% share and a 94.37% drop over October 2022.

In the fourth place was South & Central America with a share of 2.85% and a month-on-month decline of 83.02%. Middle East & Africa stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 1.27%, registering a 77.78% drop over the previous month.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s retail industry IT hiring activity with an 80.06% share in November 2022, a 79.84% decline over October 2022. Mexico featured next with a 5.38% share, down 37.04% over the previous month. Brazil recorded a 2.53% share, a decline of 82.22% compared with October 2022.

Junior Level jobs lead Amazon IT hiring activity in November 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 56.65%, down by 83.58% from October 2022. Entry Level positions with a 33.23% share, a decline of 80.26% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 10.13% share, down 92.74% over October 2022.
