US-based company Amazon’s IT hiring rose 0.5% in November 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 3.35% in November 2021 when compared with October 2021.

IT jobs claimed a 36.14% share in the company’s total hiring activity in November 2021, and recorded a 0.29% growth over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Amazon IT hiring in November 2021

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Amazon, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 85.61% in November 2021, and a 10.97% drop over October 2021, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 4.94% in November 2021, and registered a decline of 27.76%. Computer Support Specialists held a share of 4.26% in November 2021, a 32.53% rise from October 2021.

North America drives IT hiring at Amazon

North America emerged as the leading region in the global retail IT hiring activity in November 2021 with an 85.34% share, which marked a 5.13% rise over the previous month.

Asia-Pacific stood next with 7.84%, registering a 50.85% month-on-month decline. Europe was the third leading region with a 5.34% share and a 41.03% drop over October 2021.

In the fourth place was South & Central America with a share of 0.89% and a month-on-month decline of 80.67%. Middle East & Africa stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 0.58%, registering a 43.4% drop over the previous month.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s retail industry IT hiring activity with an 82.13% share in November 2021, an 11.08% growth over October 2021. India featured next with a 3.19% share, down 71.75% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 2.67% share, a decline of 59.41% compared with October 2021.

Junior Level jobs lead Amazon IT hiring activity in November 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 45.03%, down by 13.24% from October 2021. Entry Level positions with a 38.84% share, a decline of 7.13% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 16.07% share, down 10.94% over October 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.06%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
