US-based company Amazon’s IT hiring rose 1.3% in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 8.72% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.
IT jobs claimed a 34.69% share in the company’s total hiring activity in September 2021, and recorded a 2.36% decline over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Amazon IT hiring in September 2021
Out of the total IT job titles posted by Amazon, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 86.88% in September 2021, and a 5.77% rise over August 2021, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 5.09% in September 2021, and registered a decline of 7.43%. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 3.31% in September 2021, a 3.57% drop from August 2021.

North America emerged as the leading region in the global retail IT hiring activity in September 2021 with an 81.99% share, which marked a 3.51% rise over the previous month.
Asia-Pacific stood next with 9.32%, registering a 9.16% month-on-month decline. Europe was the third leading region with a 7.26% share and a 39.22% rise over August 2021.
In the fourth place was South & Central America with a share of 0.9% and a month-on-month increase of 29.41%. Middle East & Africa stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 0.53%, registering an 18.75% drop over the previous month.
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s retail industry IT hiring activity with a 78.34% share in September 2021, a 4.33% growth over August 2021. India featured next with a 6.36% share, down 7.44% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 3.21% share, a decline of 17.37% compared with August 2021.
Junior Level jobs lead Amazon IT hiring activity in September 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 45.15%, down by 3.62% from August 2021. Entry Level positions with a 39.46% share, a growth of 17.17% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 15.33% share, down 1.19% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.06%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
