US-based company Amazon’s IT hiring rose 2.9% in March 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 0.37% in March 2022 when compared with February 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 36.95% share in the company’s total hiring activity in March 2022, and recorded a 0.72% growth over the last three-month average share.

 

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Amazon IT hiring in March 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Amazon, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 87.17% in March 2022, and a 0.54% rise over February 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 5.98% in March 2022, and registered a decline of 12.1%. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 3.47% in March 2022, a 0.78% drop from February 2022.

 

North America drives IT hiring at Amazon

North America emerged as the leading region in the global retail IT hiring activity in March 2022 with a 73.73% share, which marked an 8.2% rise over the previous month.

Asia-Pacific stood next with 15.45%, registering a 16.41% month-on-month decline. Europe was the third leading region with an 8.76% share and a 26.5% drop over February 2022.

In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 1.29% and a month-on-month decline of 6.93%. South & Central America stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 0.77%, registering a 21.13% drop over the previous month.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s retail industry IT hiring activity with a 67.81% share in March 2022, a 10.02% growth over February 2022. India featured next with an 11.02% share, down 11.17% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 5.27% share, a decline of 12.33% compared with February 2022.

Junior Level jobs lead Amazon IT hiring activity in March 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 48.67%, up by 0.2% from February 2022. Entry Level positions with a 34.37% share, a decline of 2.23% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 16.79% share, down 1.13% over February 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.18%, recording a month-on-month decline of 13.33%.
