US-based company Amazon’s IT hiring rose 4.8% in February 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 5.14% in February 2022 when compared with January 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 35.06% share in the company’s total hiring activity in February 2022, and recorded a 0.51% decline over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Amazon IT hiring in February 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Amazon, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 85.58% in February 2022, and a 4.31% drop over January 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 6.85% in February 2022, and registered growth of 23.39%. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 3.58% in February 2022, an 11.31% drop from January 2022.

North America drives IT hiring at Amazon

North America emerged as the leading region in the global retail IT hiring activity in February 2022 with a 67% share, which marked a 3.87% drop over the previous month.

Asia-Pacific stood next with 18.71%, registering a 5% month-on-month decline. Europe was the third leading region with a 12.02% share and a 24.7% rise over January 2022.

In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 1.35% and a month-on-month decline of 33.1%. South & Central America stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 0.91%, registering a 31.91% drop over the previous month.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s retail industry IT hiring activity with a 60.41% share in February 2022, a 5.43% decline over January 2022. India featured next with a 12.69% share, down 11% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 6.08% share, an increase of 10.36% compared with January 2022.

Junior Level jobs lead Amazon IT hiring activity in February 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 47.8%, down by 0.33% from January 2022. Entry Level positions with a 35.71% share, a growth of 1.34% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 16.29% share, down 14.71% over January 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.2%, recording a month-on-month increase of 100%.
