Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 56.89% in September 2022, a 15.28% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 19.48% in September 2022, marking a 3.59% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 13.26% in September 2022, a 15.79% drop from August 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 2.36% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s retail industry during September 2022 over previous month.
Amazon posted 427 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a decline of 27.13% over the previous month, followed by Rakuten Group with 141 jobs and a 1662.5% growth. Woolworths Group with 79 IT jobs and JD with 60 jobs, recorded a 15.96% drop and a 53.85% rise, respectively, while Target recorded a 5.41% increase with 39 job postings during September 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s retail industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s retail industry IT hiring activity with a 45.08% share in September 2022, a 26.15% decrease over August 2022. Japan featured next with a 17.31% share, up 255.32% over the previous month. Australia recorded a 15.03% share, a drop of 26.77% compared with August 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 59.27%, down by 16.01% from August 2022. Entry Level positions with a 22.9% share, registered a decline of 9.43% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 17.82% share, down 4.97% over August 2022.
